Hina Khan Lusting For Super Powers? Reveals Which DC Comics Character Inspires Her The Most- EXCLUSIVE
Hina Khan's short film Smartphone is finally streaming on a digital platform and we decided to speak exclusively to the actress about it. She shared her experience of going de-glam for the film and also discussed her dream role.

Excerpts from the conversation below:

Your complete desi look in the film came as a surprise to many. How did you react to it?
Getting into the character of Suman was definitely a change for me. Compared to my previous work, this role has been very different and something I have never experimented with before. From personality traits of my character, to the language- I have had to work on various things for this role- so, everything has been unique and challenging in its own way. I am also sure you guys are going to enjoy watching it too.

Fans keep sharing your transformation pictures on social media. What changes do you personally observe in yourself?
It is overwhelming and lovely to see how my well-wishers have been with me through every journey of mine, be it small or big! Even coming to my transformation journey, which they have been so supportive of! Their love, praise and motivation for every step that I take in life is what keeps me going strong, and always will!

You made headlines when you walked the Cannes red carpet last year. Unfortunately, due to the lockdown, it won’t happen this time. Will you miss walking the red carpet this year?
Walking the Cannes red carpet last year was one of the most overwhelming, amazing and cherish-worthy moments of my life. To sum it up, it was an experience of a lifetime which will be etched in my memory forever! So yes, I am definitely going to miss all the Cannes red carpet madness this year, but due to necessary safety protocols, it has been called off! But hoping to see an even bigger and better celebration of the festival next year!

Coming back to your film Smartphone, it's being released during the lockdown. What do you feel about it?
I honestly feel that the makers have taken a great decision by going forward with our short film release during this lockdown time. As right now, according to what I am gauging of the ongoing situation, people are getting bogged down by home quarantine, so what they actually need is some good content to keep their minds occupied and diverted from the stressful atmosphere. Hence, there's nothing better than offering them content which is entertaining, interesting, motivational and something which aims at showcasing a good message for people to learn from.

How was your experience of working with Kunaal Roy Kapur and Akshay Oberoi. Had you seen their work before?
It was a great experience working with Kunaal and Akshay! Both of them are very talented and lovely actors! They have also been fun co-stars to bond with! Since it was a short film, our shoot wasn't a very long one, but whatever time we spent together on set will always be quite memorable.

What kind of stuff does Hina want to do on the OTT platform?
It has been a longstanding wish to play an action heroine. Something on the lines of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman! Such characters really intrigue me because of the way they bring out the true strength of a woman! So portraying a role like this is definitely something on my bucket list!

A big debate happened on social media on whether celebrities should take pictures and videos while helping the needy and share it online. Your take?
It's the intention with which the act is done, and that is what eventually counts. So, if someone has done a good deed with keeping in mind the only purpose of helping out others, I don't see any harm in them wanting to share their experience with others.
